Tembisa community receive new police station

Details Media Statement from Gauteng Media Centre Corporate Communication South African Police Service 03 September 2014 The community of Tembisa was delighted with the newly opened Tembisa South police station which will ensure the strengthening of police resources in the area. The police station was officially opened by the Police Minister Nathi Nhleko along with Gauteng Premier, David Makhura, MEC for Community Safety, Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane and Gauteng Commissioner, Lieutenant General Jooel Lesetja Mothiba. Minister of Police, Nathi Nhleko, explained that the hand-over of a new police station in Tembisa will go a long way in decreasing crime and improving the quality of life in the area. "This is part of government's plan to provide quality policing and to improving access to community policing. Today is a cause for celebration. We all need to play a role in the fight against crime to ensure that our communities are safe and protected," he said. Colonel Sengange Maredi who is the station commander of the newly opened police station, expressed her joy after the opening.
