Local News & Safety
Use Local News & Safety to find community-related information such as safety notices, traffic information, missing-person information, public-service information and important alerts.
When submitting safety information, describe what was observed, where and when it happened, and provide useful information without presenting an unverified allegation as a confirmed fact.
For an immediate emergency or situation requiring urgent assistance, contact the appropriate emergency or public-safety service rather than relying only on an online submission.
Community
Community is intended for information that benefits the community, including notices, meetings, events, community activities, leadership information and other relevant community matters.
Community information should remain relevant to the purpose of the platform.
Content that does not belong in community information
- Spam or repeated unwanted messages.
- Unrelated personal conversations or disputes.
- Unrelated selling posts.
- Misleading or deliberately false information.
- Unnecessary private or sensitive information.
- Content that has no meaningful community purpose.
Businesses that want to promote products or services should use the Business or Advertising sections where appropriate.
Business
The Business section is intended to help people discover participating local businesses and their services.
Depending on the section, users may be able to find business directory information, promotions, offers, referrals and business social-media information.
Careers
The Careers section is intended to bring together useful employment and education information, including jobs, universities, colleges and TVET opportunities, NSFAS information, learnerships, internships, skills development and job-seeker resources.
Advertising
Businesses can use the Advertising section to learn about advertising opportunities and access advertiser services.
Advertising content should be relevant to the advertised business, product or service and should follow the platform's applicable requirements.
WiFi
The WiFi section provides information about participating WiFi services, vouchers and packages.
WiFi availability, voucher validity and access conditions can depend on the participating hotspot or service configuration.
Privacy and responsible information sharing
Do not publish unnecessary personal information about yourself or another person. When reporting a community incident, provide only information that is useful for understanding the situation and avoid unnecessary identifying details.
