Requirements
Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus MMed (Surg) or FCS (SA). Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Microsurgical skills. Proof of current registration with the HPCSA from 01 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Medical Specialist Grade 1 no experience after registration with HPCSA, Medical Specialist Grade 2 - A minimum of 05 yearsβ experience after registration with HPCSA and Medical Specialist Grade 3 - A minimum of 10 yearsβ experience after registration with HPCSA in a normal Speciality. The candidate should be able to demonstrate teaching experience and research success, preferably including publications. Experience in teaching and learning, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students. This is a joint appointment between the University of Pretoria (Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) and Steve Biko Academic Hospital.
